How does politics affect me?

This is the first time many of you will get the chance to make your voice heard in a national election.

Why wouldn’t you want to have your say?

Who should decide how much money should be spent on mental health services for young people, how to tackle family poverty, or whether we’re doing enough to tackle climate change?

Why shouldn’t it be you?

You don’t need to be an expert. Every adult gets to vote regardless of how much they know about politics. And this time, for the first time, 16 and 17 year olds get to vote for their Senedd Members too – and you can hold them accountable when they’ve taken up their seats.

If you don’t vote, why would politicians listen to what you have to say? Why should they prioritise the things that you care about?

It’s time to make yourself heard…

Get registered on gov.uk

Register to vote by 19 April 2021. If you don’t register in time, you won’t get to vote in the Senedd Elections on  6 May, and you won’t get to have your say in your future and the future of Wales.

Head over to the Gov.uk website to register your vote today. It only takes 5 minutes!
